Homework

From now on, apart from spellings, the homework sheets will no longer be printed off for every child. The children are to complete their homework in their maths and English homework books.

Please talk to your class teacher directly if you need a printed copy.

Please ensure that you listen to your child read at least 3 times a week and record in their homework diaries as these will checked weekly by your child's class teacher.

If your child is already a proficient reader, they are expected to update their reading records themselves, however we request for you to sign their reading records weekly before Friday.

All homework will be set on Monday.

Through the year, we undertake ILTs (Independent Learning Tasks). These tasks allow the children to work more on their own (though with our support and advice, naturally) and really show what they can do in extending themselves. The ILTs are as follows:

  • Autumn Term – Pop-up Book

  • Spring Term –Bridges

  • Summer Term – Welcome to QE Booklet

Homework wc 27.01.25

This week all the spellings are all words words ending in the suffixes ‘ably’ and ‘ibly’. The children need to practise the spellings they are set for a test on Monday 10th February 2025.

Every Monday, the children sit an arithmetic test which they then mark and go through with their teacher. The children then take this test home to allow them to practise the questions they found hard at home so they find similar questions easier next time.

The children have been given their CGP books for their maths and English homework. In the maths book, the children are to complete pages 31, 32 and 33. In the English book, the children need to complete pages 12, 13, 14 and 15. This is due in on Monday 3rd February 2025.

This term the ILT is to design, evaluate and produce a bridge from any chosen materials and then make a bridge strong enough to hold a 100g weight. For more information on how to complete, see the attached document below. This is due in on Monday 31st March 2025.
