Homework

Reminders for week beginning Monday 9th June 2025

Please be aware of your SCOPAY balance for school lunches as it is difficult for refunds to be processed once your child has left.

Some children are attending Bikeability next week - you should have received your allocated session via email.

Update on School Lunches

Our catering manager has spoken with the food supplier and they are unable to confirm when the baguettes will be delivered. Until we receive confirmation of supply, we are not able to offer ham or cheese baguettes on the menu. We will continue to offer jacket potatoes as an alternative. Once we have a delivery of baguettes, we will update you.

Please ensure you amend your SCOPAY Lunch choices for your children as necessary before Monday morning as the Blue & Yellow options will not be available.

District Sports

Children have now been informed if they have been selected for District Sports.  If your child has been selected, please look out for information and consent details via your ParentPay account. We kindly request you provide your consent for your child to take part by Wednesday 11th June to give us the opportunity to invite others.

General

Please remember to select lunch choices on SCOPAY for the week ahead.
Remember to name any item of clothing, drinks bottles, lunch bags & boxes that your child brings into school - we are happy to reunite named items!
Don't forget to make sure you have swimming kit at school every day - we are unable to call home if it's forgotten!

***

From now on, apart from spellings, the homework sheets will no longer be printed off for every child. The children are to complete their homework in their maths and English homework books.

Please talk to your class teacher directly if you need a printed copy.

Please ensure that you listen to your child read at least 3 times a week and record in their homework diaries as these will checked weekly by your child's class teacher.

If your child is already a proficient reader, they are expected to update their reading records themselves, however we request for you to sign their reading records weekly before Friday.

All homework will be set on Monday.

Through the year, we undertake ILTs (Independent Learning Tasks). These tasks allow the children to work more on their own (though with our support and advice, naturally) and really show what they can do in extending themselves. The ILTs are as follows:

  • Autumn Term – Pop-up Book

  • Spring Term –Bridges

  • Summer Term – Welcome to QE Booklet

Action for nature homework (SDG15 Life on Land)

As part of our journey to becoming global citizens (as well as eco warriors), our classes voted to prioritise Sustainable Development Goal 15 (Life on Land)  this year. We were delighted to have Ross from the Surrey Wildlife Trust back in school this week to remind us about the decline in nature in Surrey and also our responsibility to do something about it. As courageous advocates, it is important that we spread the word and take action!

We are therefore encouraging every member of our school to do one action for nature this month! The SWT website gives lots of examples, big and small. Please visit the website and log your action. We would also love some photos or short videos to put on our Instagram! Please send any to the school office.
