PSA

Queen Eleanor’s Parent Staff Association

Welcome to our page where you can find out about your PSA, raising funds, volunteering, second-hand uniform and lots more!

The PSA is a registered charity run by a committee of enthusiastic parents and school representatives. We organise fun and inclusive social events and activities for children and families across the year. The funds raised provide resources and opportunities that the school may not otherwise be able to afford. We also come together to contribute in a hands-on manner with working groups and other activities.

Get in touch anytime: email us here and why not follow our Facebook page !

Contributing and Volunteering

Lending a hand, no matter how large or small, will help make positive changes that enhance the children's experience and education at QE. There are many opportunities to help, from taking part in PSA events; donating money or items for tombolas, cake sales, etc, or being actively involved in arranging events. We are grateful for whatever support you can offer. It really does make a huge difference.

Volunteers involved in activities on site are likely to need a current DBS check with the school. If you're interested in volunteering, please contact the school office to find out how to go through the DBS check by either popping in, giving them a call or emailing office@queen-eleanors.surrey.sch.uk

Easy ways to help raise funds

Guildford Lottery - at least 60% from each £1 ticket purchased goes to support good causes in Guildford (50p to QE and 10p to other causes). Buy one ticket or lots! And there’s a chance to win the £25,000 jackpot each week.

Easyfundraising - add the app to your phone/tablet, choose Queen Eleanor’s Junior School as your cause, then simply access all your favourite shops, such as M&S, Boots, Tesco, booking.com and many more. A small % is donated to the school without any cost to you. You can install a donation reminder which will pop up on any participating online retailer’s website to make giving even easier.

Stikins name labels for uniform - Stikins is a brand-leader for multipurpose stick-on name labels, suitable for all kinds of school items. Never lose your children’s belongings again! Use the link below to auto-add the fundraising code to your purchase (or use this code 16315)

Can your organisation offer ‘match-funding’ for your contributions?

Matched funding enables the PSA to boost the income raised at school fundraising events. It helped raise over £1000 in 21/22! Many large companies operate a scheme where they will ‘match’ charity fundraising or donations undertaken by their employees. These organisations set aside millions of pounds to fund such schemes and are happy to support their staff in raising money for charities. The amounts donated can range from a small amount to £1000+ per employee per event.

As our QE PSA is a registered charity, we are in a position to benefit from your involvement, however big or small, at any fundraising school event. Your participation might be, for example, serving at the bar, clearing up or helping to sell raffle tickets. All qualify as ‘assisting with fundraising’. Many employers can match your charity donations – which could double the income to our appeal.

If your employer offers a match-funding scheme, please email us to see how we comply with their requirements.

If you click below, you can see list of match funding companies.

Fundraising aims and outcomes

We will be agreeing our fundraising aims for 23/24 soon and will post them here.

Second-hand uniform

The PSA runs regular second-hand uniform sales and accepts donations of good condition pre-loved uniform. Uniform for families needing support is always available at no cost. Please email if you need uniform when there is no upcoming sale.

PSA Committee

(Please see the Team Photosheet below)

Our PSA Committee is made up of volunteers who oversee the running of the charity.

Chairs: Anna Deadman

Secretary: currently vacant

Treasurer: Sarah Sawyer

Ordinary members: Su Russell, Sarah Allwork and Katy Coeburgh.

New committee members are always welcome, as are people who don’t want to attend the meetings but are willing to help in various ways throughout the year.

We have open meetings. Twice a term via zoom or in person. Everyone is very welcome to join and there is also an AGM each year.

Class reps

(Please see the Team Photosheet below)

Each class has a class representative. Class representatives communicate directly with the parents and carers via a class WhatsApp group. They relay messages from the school and PSA and can be a point of call with any general queries. Usual school administrative and pupil support queries are managed by the school directly.

If you would like to join one of the class WhatsApp groups please email the PSA and we will arrange this.
